What Looking At the Top Of A Tree Has Taught Me

Every day I am very fortunate to look to my right and see,

The top of a tree outside my window staring back at me.

How often have you had the chance to see the top of a tree,

That has survived many a season to reach the age of thirty.

This tree has been a witness to times both good and bad,

Its presence has been a comfort in moments, happy and sad.

Through the frigid winters and hot summers, it has stood tall,

I have looked to it for wisdom before making an important call.

This tree standing still and erect in all of its magnificence,

Is a symbol of consistent strength and resilience.

It is a reminder that there is always room to grow,

Learn, take new risks and then reap what you sow.

Even though it is grounded, it still reaches for the sky,

And encourages change, creativity and to always ask why.

Its ability to stay rooted on even the windiest of days,

Is a lesson on how to adapt when all seems a maze.

There are things that you pass on your way,

Whether you are going to work or to play.

If you look closely they have lessons to share,

Like my tall tree which I hope will always be there.
